Crisp lines, lived-in colour.

The Way We Work

Slow painting, on purpose

“Painting is ten percent painting. The rest is prep, patience, and not cutting corners where the skirting meets the floor.” Alfie, founder
  • Prep first, always

Sugar soap, fill, sand, prime. The boring bit is what makes the pretty bit last. We never paint over problems.

  • Tidy as we go

Dust sheets down before the kettle goes on, and a proper hoover round before we leave each day. You should barely know we were there.

  • Colour help included

Stuck between three shades of green? We bring the fan decks, hold them up in your light, and give you an honest opinion.

The Team

The hands behind the brushes

Three decorators, one van, and a shared obsession with straight lines.

Alfie, founder and painter, in a plain navy work polo with paint flecks on his arms

Alfie

Founder & Painter

Started Harbour & Hue with a second-hand van and a reputation for prep work. Still the one who checks every line before we pack up.

Nadia, decorator and colour consultant, holding a fanned paint colour chart

Nadia

Decorator & Colour Consultant

Wallpaper whisperer, and the reason our feature walls get photographed. Will talk you out of a bad colour choice, kindly.

Tom, painter and exteriors specialist, in plain charcoal work overalls

Tom

Painter & Exteriors

Ladders, render and masonry are his patch. If it is outside and needs painting in Bristol weather, Tom has already weatherproofed it.

Word of Mouth

What Bristol says

Example reviews shown for the template. At personalisation these are replaced with the client's own verified Google reviews.

“Alfie and the team painted our whole ground floor in Montpelier. The prep work was unreal, and not a speck of dust left behind. The sage green walls get compliments from everyone.”

Hannah W. Montpelier (example)

“Nadia hung a tricky patterned paper in our bedroom and the joins are invisible. Honest pricing, and they turned up when they said they would.”

Greg P. Redland (example)

“Our rendered front in Bedminster looks brand new. Tom repaired cracks we did not even know we had. Worth every penny.”

Siobhan D. Bedminster (example)
