Coffee, done properly
Double shots as standard, milk steamed to silk. Flat white is the house pour and the one to judge us on.

The Copper Kettle is a working café on Tib Street. Flat whites poured properly, a full Manchester breakfast that keeps you going till dinner, and cake worth saving room for.
Walk-ins welcome • Dogs get a biscuit
We opened on Tib Street because the Northern Quarter needed a café that treats breakfast like it matters. Not a concept, not a pop-up with a queue for the sake of it. A proper neighbourhood spot where the regulars get their usual started when they walk through the door.
Everything savoury is cooked to order, the cakes are baked in our own kitchen every morning, and the coffee gets the same attention at 7.30 on a wet Tuesday as it does at Saturday brunch. If a dish is not good enough to eat ourselves, it does not go on the menu.
“Coffee should be the best part of your morning, not the most complicated.”

Brick, copper and morning light. This is what it looks like in here most days.
Small team, long shifts, strong opinions about milk temperature. You will know all three by name within a week.
Runs the espresso bar and the playlist. Her flat white is the reason half the street drinks here.
Owns the breakfast service. Believes a fried egg should have crispy edges and will not be moved on it.
Remembers your order, your dog's name and where you like to sit. The Kettle's unofficial mayor.

“Best flat white in the Northern Quarter, no contest. The full Manchester sorted me out after a night out and the staff could not have been friendlier.”
“Finally, a café that does breakfast until 3pm. The shakshuka is superb and my dog is genuinely excited when we turn onto Tib Street.”
“Worked from here three mornings this week. Good wifi, better coffee, and the carrot cake is dangerous. My new office.”
Call, WhatsApp, or just turn up. Tables for weekend brunch go quickly, so booking ahead is the smart move.
In the thick of the Northern Quarter, a short walk from Piccadilly Gardens and the tram. Look for the copper kettle in the window.
Kitchen closes 30 minutes before we do. Breakfast served all day, every day.
